Dental Exam - A comprehensive exam will be performed at your initial visit.

Examination of existing restorations: Document and evaluate current fillings, crowns, etc.
Oral cancer screening: Check the tongue, gums, soft and hard palate for signs of oral cancer.
Periodontal evaluation: Check the gums for signs of periodontal disease and probe the pockets between tooth and gum to measure your perio health.
Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay
Examination of diagnostic digital x-rays : Essential for detection of decay, cysts, and bone loss.

Professional Dental Cleaning

Calculus (tartar) removal: Calculus is hardened plaque firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus is found above and below the gum line and can only be removed safely in the dental office. We use a Cavitron ultrasonic cleaner and hand instruments to remove tartar.
Polishing: Remove stains to make your teeth as shiny as possible. Our small, high speed rotating brush polishes with more pressure than your brush, reaching the entire tooth surface without injuring the gums.
